You see this is a console port and much like most other console ports, they don't really do much for the PC, recompile and dump it on a DVD... it doesn't magically play better because you have a mouse... some games are nearly unplayable with a mouse on the PC.
There are basically two different types of games, those that really just share the name and some vague game play that is somewhat the same but isn't (Sacred 2, Red Alert, etc). Then there are console ports, which is what Borderlands is. Mercenaries 2, Prototype, Dead Space, Red Faction, Fallout 3 (I tried both, it was better with a controller), Assassin's Creed (controls were screwed on the PC all the way around), Mass Effect....the list goes on and on. Bioshock is one that appears as a port yet did the mouse very well...which makes me think it wasn't a port at all it just looked like it.
The reason I ask this question is because Borderlands touches on greatness but doesn't quite reach it. If the PC version did actually optimize the controls and people could find ways to mod other aspects, it really could become a classic. Guess we will find out next week but my money goes to not given the history of console ports.
